As part of a summer tour by Germany’s Federal Minister of Transport, Steffen Bilger, the Lotsenbrüderschaft NOK II / Kiel / Lübeck / Flensburg presented its work onboard the new multipurpose vessel SCHARHÖRN

Through a virtual pilotage scenario, Remko Fehr from Lotsenbrüderschaft NOK II demonstrated the role of maritime pilots and some of the operational challenges they encounter in their daily work.

The demonstration used the Morild Ship & Bridge VR simulator, including a digital twin of the local sea pilotage district and a selection of different vessel types. This enabled the pilotage operation to be demonstrated in an immersive and realistic virtual environment directly onboard SCHARHÖRN.

The crew of SCHARHÖRN, together with Captain Anakena Barz, provided valuable support in facilitating the demonstration
